Welcome to the Bristol & District Tranquilliser Project
The Project helps those having problems with certain prescribed psychotropic medication (benzodiazepine tranquillisers/sleeping tablets, other sleeping tablets & antidepressants). We help people who are taking, who are considering taking or have recently withdrawn from this medication. We also support friends & family of those having problems with their medications. We have re-opened our face-to-face services within Bristol & are in the process of contacting existing clients about the additional services we can provide. Please call our helpline for further details and to arrange a face-to-face. There is some very sad news to add to this site. Sadly, Ian Singleton passed away on the 2nd May 2022. Our thoughts and prayers go to his wife Sue and the family at this sad time. As a founder member of the Project, Ian touched and saved so many lives in his dedication to his work. The project and our clients will remember his empathy, compassion, and kindness in all that he did. “He was one of the originals, if it were not for Ian I would not be here today”. “Terribly sad news, he was a friend and he meant so much to me, I will always remember our times in the group.” “For three years Ian walked a very dark path with me when I was completely alone. He really was the light that guided me out of despair. I and many hundreds like me will always remember him with heartfelt gratitude.” Our helpline will be closed from 3pm on Tuesday 31 May until 10am on Tuesday 7 June 2022 for the long UK bank holiday weekend.
